Instructions to Participants

Please read carefully before starting analysis

Quick Safety & Handling

  • Only trained and authorized personnel should handle PT items.
  • On receiving the PT item/sample, check that it is intact. If there is any issue, inform the PTP immediately. Record this in the sample receipt acknowledgement link shared by email and submit it within two days of receipt.
  • Record date of receipt and store under the specified conditions until analysis.
  • Initiate analysis within 48 hours of receipt.
  • Treat PT items like routine samples and use standard methods unless otherwise instructed.
  • Read the detailed instructions/information and follow them accordingly.
  • Open PT containers only when you begin the analysis.

Revival Instructions for Vials

Vial 2025MW02R2-V1

  1. Uncap the sample vial 2025MW02R2-V1 aseptically and rehydrate using 4ml sterile saline peptone water (0.1% peptone with 0.85% NaCl).
  2. Securely recap and allow 5 minutes rehydration at room temperature.
  3. Empty the rehydrated vial content into 500 ml of sterile distilled water, ensuring thorough homogenization of the sample.
  4. Treat this as your sample and carry out analysis for the presence or absence of Salmonella and Shigella.
  5. Submit the results as Per 250 ml only.

Vial 2025MW02R2-V2

  1. Uncap the sample vial 2025MW02R2-V2 aseptically and rehydrate using 4ml sterile saline peptone water (0.1% peptone with 0.85% NaCl).
  2. Securely recap and allow 5 minutes rehydration at room temperature.
  3. Empty the rehydrated vial content into 500 ml of sterile distilled water ensuring thorough homogenization of the sample.
  4. Treat this as your sample and carry out analysis for Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Staphylococcus aureus.
  5. Submit the results as Per 250 ml only.

Vial 2025MW02R2-V3

  1. Uncap the sample vial 2025MW02R2-V3 aseptically and rehydrate using 4ml sterile saline peptone water (0.1% peptone with 0.85% NaCl).
  2. Securely recap and allow 5 minutes rehydration at room temperature.
  3. Empty the rehydrated vial content into 500 ml of sterile distilled water ensuring thorough homogenization of the sample.
  4. Treat this as your sample and carry out analysis for Faecal streptococci and Yeast and Mould.
  5. Submit the results as Per 250 ml only.

Raw Data Submission

  • Clear photographs of all plates (before counting, with readable labelling).
  • Photographs of all biochemical / confirmation tests performed (if applicable).
  • Accepted formats: PDF  |  Max size: 5 MB each.
  • Ensure photos are clear, in focus, and labelled with sample code, date and dilution (if used).
Note: Ensure images are in focus and labeled with sample ID, dilution, and date.
